The CAHSEE Shield

The CAHSEE shield shows the Americas, for the Latino population; a model of the atom, to signify advance in science and engineering; and the words "Sapientia Pro Generi Humano Loquetur," which means "Wisdom Shall Speak for Humanity." The CAHSEE shield was produced by Rafael Mendiola, a former YEP, based on a design by Charles Vela. The shield was unveiled at the 2002 STEM Institute closing ceremony.
